What is a .nfo file?
A .nfo file is an NFO document. Its registered MIME type is text/x-nfo, which places it in the text family of formats.
NFO stands for iNFOrmation.
Technically it is a specialised form of text/x-readme, so tools that understand that format can often read at least part of it.

How to open NFO files
