How Remove PDF Pages works

Type the numbers of the pages to delete, separated by commas, with a dash for a range: 2, 5-7 removes page 2 and pages 5, 6 and 7. Everything else is copied into a new PDF in its original order, and the original file on your device is left as it is.

Pages are copied, not re-rendered, so what is left looks exactly the same: text stays selectable, scans keep their resolution and links on the page still work. The work is done by pdf-lib, an open-source PDF library, inside this tab.

Removing blank scanned pages, cover sheets, adverts or confidential pages before sharing is the usual reason. Deleted pages are genuinely gone from the new file, not hidden, so their content cannot be recovered from it.

The same page numbers are removed from every PDF you add, which helps when a batch of scans all have a blank first page or when every monthly statement ends with the same page of small print. Each file gets its own download button, named after its original. Removing pages usually makes the file smaller, because the content of the deleted pages is not copied, though fonts and images shared with the remaining pages are kept once. Links from a table of contents to a removed page stop working, since the page they pointed to is gone. When to use it

Page numbers count from the first page of the file, which may differ from the numbers printed on the pages. Check them in your PDF viewer first.

"Pages do not exist"

A number is higher than the page count. The message says how many pages the PDF has.

"That would remove every page"

A PDF needs at least one page. Check the ranges you typed.

The file will not open

It is password protected. Unlock it first with Unlock PDF.

Is it safe to do this online?

With most online tools, "online" means your file is uploaded to a company's server, processed there and kept for a while before it is deleted. Here it is not. The page downloads the tool's code to your browser, and your file is read and processed inside the tab on your own device. It is never sent to TapToConvert or anyone else.

You can check this yourself: once the page and its engine have loaded, turn off Wi-Fi and the tool still works. That also means there is no queue, no daily limit and no file size cap set by a server; the only limit is the memory your browser gives a single tab.
