What is a .jpx file?
A .jpx file is a JPEG-2000 JPX image. Its registered MIME type is image/jpx, which places it in the image family of formats.
JPX stands for JPEG-2000 eXtended.
JPX is a binary format: the contents are not readable text, so opening it in a text editor shows scrambled characters.
The same format is also saved with the extension .jpf.
